In Kea Hub there is always many forms of reading (pānui) and writing (tuhituhi) going on.
Our reading groups look at fiction and non-fiction stories, articles and poems. They make connections to their own world. Rā rima (Daily 5) is a time for them to choose their own ways to read and write as well.
All akonga (learners) are working at the level best for them. As kaiako (teachers) we are always so proud to see how much they are improving all the time.
In writing at the moment we are learning to write narratives with characters, settings and action. The learners love to make up their own stories! Ask them about their writing.

Mathematicians who measure...
In Kea Hub we are investigating measurement as part of Pāngarau.
In Whaea Kat's class they have been outside measuring the courts with a variety of objects.
Whaea Georgia's class has been looking at how squares and cubes are used to measure area and volume.
Last term we all looked at how World Records are measured too.
